DNA sequencing is the process of determining the sequence of nucleotides (As, Ts, Cs, and Gs) in a piece of DNA. From 1977 to 2016 three generation of the sequencing technologies of various types have been developed. Second and third generation sequencing technologies referred commonly to as next generation sequencing technology, has evolved significantly with increase in sequencing speed, decrease in sequencing cost. During DNA sequencing, lasers are used to excite fluorescence from dyes-labelled DNA fragments, which allows the identification of the four basic DNA molecules.
4in1 Photonics provides a variety of multi-wavelength laser light sources for DNA sequencing application.
